Q: What is 5U, 7U and 9U?

A: 5U Division
5U T-Ball is the introductory level to teach all five fundamentals of baseball…hitting, throwing, catching, fielding and running for the young player ages 4 and 5 in a safe and fun environment.
5U is played with a “soft” ball, a Tee, a glove and an aluminum tee ball bat.  All players are constantly rotated between all positions and will experience every part of the game. It’s exciting, it’s fun, everyone hits every inning, and the kids really learn the game of baseball properly and safely.

7U Division
The primary focus of 7Uv ball is to teach children, coaches and parents the fundamentals of baseball.  The division is comprised of players ages 6 and 7.  7U ball is a semi-competitive skills development program and designed for the kids to have fun while learning the game of baseball.  They begin to learn how to hit a soft rubber ball that is pitched to them by a pitching machine and play all positions.  All players on the defensive team play in the field at the same time and every player hits every inning.

9U Division
9U Ball is the next level of baseball development, where standings are kept.   The division is composed of players ages 8 and 9. At this level the games begin to conform to baseball with one exception, except that there a pitching machine is used.  The balls for this division are regular baseballs.  The defensive team places 11 players in the field where the rules of fair play are followed.   Game scores and standings may be recorded.
