Caledon High-Performance Program
Take Your Game to the Next Level
The Town of Caledon and the Caledon Baseball Association are excited to introduce the
Caledon High Performance Baseball Program (HPP)
—a comprehensive player development program designed for athletes who are committed to reaching their full potential both on and off the field.
With significant investments in baseball infrastructure and athlete development, there has never been a better time to play baseball in Caledon.
A Growing Home for High Performance Baseball
Our athletes will benefit from outstanding facilities and resources, including:
Two newly opened baseball diamonds at
Taylor Fields
A new turf baseball field scheduled to open in Spring 2027
The Diamond Lab Training Facility (targeted opening Fall 2026)
The Caledon East Sports Dome (anticipated Fall 2026)
Strength and conditioning programming through the Caledon Athletic Academy
The Caledon Baseball Association has also assembled an experienced coaching staff featuring former professional, collegiate, and elite-level players who are passionate about developing the next generation of athletes.
Current coaches include:
Andrew White – Barrie Baycats (Canadian Premier League)
Ben Sterritt – Former Toronto Maple Leafs (Canadian Premier League)
New Tec Baseball coaching staff
Baseball Zone coaching staff
Zack Barker – NCAA Division I athlete
Additional coaching announcements will be made in the coming months.
Program Philosophy
The High Performance Program is designed for players who are looking to elevate their baseball skills and prepare for higher levels of competition.
Our development model focuses on:
Technical skill development
Position-specific instruction
Strength and conditioning
Baseball IQ
Mental performance
Healthy lifestyle habits
Leadership and character development
With commitment and dedication, athletes will develop the physical and mental skills needed to compete at the highest levels, including:
Elite Baseball Ontario
High school baseball
Canadian and U.S. college baseball
Future professional opportunities
2027 Program Plans
Caledon intends to field High Performance teams at the following age groups for the 2027 season:
12U
13U
14U
15U
Program Structure (15U Example)
Fall Development
The fall program will focus on continued development through:
Practices and exhibition games
Two to three tournaments (including the possibility of one U.S. tournament)
Outdoor training for as long as weather permits
Indoor strength and conditioning
Flexibility and mobility training
Education on nutrition, recovery, stretching, and healthy habits
Mental performance training to help athletes manage adversity, build confidence, and develop resilience on and off the field
Winter Development
Our off-season program will include three to four training sessions per week featuring:
Position-specific instruction
Pitching development
Hitting instruction
Defensive development
Strength and conditioning
Mental skills coaching
Athletes will also be encouraged to complete additional individual training outside scheduled sessions to maximize their development.
Spring Season
The spring season will focus on maximizing repetitions through:
Practices
Exhibition games
Tournament opportunities
Increased outdoor training as weather allows
The anticipated opening of Caledon's new turf field will significantly expand field availability during the spring months.
Summer Season
Caledon plans to compete in
Elite Baseball Ontario
(subject to league acceptance), with potential participation in leagues such as:
YSBA
COBA
EOBA
TBA
The summer schedule is expected to include:
League play
Local tournaments
Ontario Baseball Championships (OBA)
Playoffs
A premier U.S. tournament opportunity (potentially Myrtle Beach)
Participation in U.S. travel events will be optional.
To continue challenging our athletes, teams may also compete in select older age group tournaments throughout the season.
Additional Athlete Development Opportunities
The High Performance Program will also include:
Individual athlete development plans with ongoing progress monitoring
University and college pathway guidance
Player profiles to support future recruiting opportunities
Team-building activities throughout the year
Independent evaluations by non-parent coaches
Opportunities to participate in a future NCAA Showcase hosted by Caledon Baseball (Caledon athletes will receive priority consideration)
Above all, our goal is to create an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and inspired while continuing to enjoy the game they love.
