A message from our President
As we step into another exciting season with Caledon Minor Baseball, I’m honoured to serve as your President and to continue building on the strong foundation this community has created over the years.
First and foremost, I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to our outgoing Board members for their leadership, dedication, and countless volunteer hours. Your commitment has helped shape the positive, inclusive environment that our players, coaches, and families enjoy today.
I would like to thank our former Tournament Director, John Stegeman, for his hard work and steady leadership. John’s organization, calm presence, and ability to navigate the many moving pieces behind the scenes have ensured that our tournaments ran smoothly and successfully year after year. His contributions have strengthened our program and elevated the experience for visiting teams and our own players alike.
I would also like to thank our former Challenger Program Director, Jackie Thornton, who dedicated five years to building and nurturing this truly special program. Jackie’s compassion, advocacy, and commitment to creating an accessible and joyful baseball experience have made a lasting impact on our athletes and their families. Her leadership has helped the Challenger Program grow into one of the most meaningful parts of our association.
Thank you as well to our former First Vice President, John Ruta, for his guidance, reliability, and unwavering support behind the scenes. John brought thoughtful leadership and a solutions-focused approach to every challenge, and his dedication has helped strengthen our operations and our community.
Finally, I would like to express our appreciation to our outgoing President, Tim Thornton, for his exceptional service and commitment. Tim has led with integrity, vision, and a deep passion for our association. We are pleased that Tim will be staying on, and we are grateful for the many years he has devoted to building a strong, supportive, and thriving baseball community in Caledon.
I’d also like to welcome our new Board members. Your energy, ideas, and passion for the game will be essential as we continue to grow our programs and create opportunities for all players to develop both on and off the field.
It’s been an exciting year for baseball across Canada — the Toronto Blue Jays have shown us once again what determination, teamwork, and resilience look like at the highest level. That same spirit lives within our local baseball community, from our youngest T-ball players to our competitive teams representing Caledon across the province.
Thank you to our players, coaches, families, and volunteers for your ongoing support. Together, we will make this season another memorable one — full of learning, fun, and a shared love of the game.
Looking forward to next season already,
